Collaborative Film Review by Google Docs: The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar

 Hello everyone, since I love watching and commenting on movies, I am here with a task that I have enjoyed the most so far. We chose a movie we wanted, watched it with my group friends Başak and Belinay, and then wrote a review with the help of Google Docs. We are glad we decided on this contemporary short film because none of us got tired of watching it. I will not give more details about the movie here because you will find enough information in our writing. Each of us analyzed all the points and thus offered the reader a preview trailer before even watching the trailer of the movie. After completing our writing task, we selected peers (our friends Hümeyra and Yüsra) to get feedback and commented on our mutual reviews.

 How was the co-writing assignment?

 This is the first time we worked together on such a task. I can say that it is easier and more enjoyable than writing alone. We were able to make a more effective evaluation by catching a detail that each other missed. Also, pleasingly, it took less time because we progressed together by giving feedback to each other. It was fun to bring together common and different ideas and write about the film activity we all enjoyed. I can say that we discovered a beautiful movie and completed our mission simultaneously. We wanted to say more about the movie we watched, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, but the word limit stopped us. However, even in this state, you can get enough information. I hope you can't wait to watch it.

How was Google Docs as a collaborative writing tool?

 Docs application is perfect for such an assignment. When you share the link of the file with other people, all changes made are visible mutually and I think this is a very important technology. The comment adding feature is also a well-thought-out feature in terms of giving and receiving feedback. We can easily see who recommended what. After finishing our task, we were able to exchange opinions with our peers whom we selected for feedback and make our self-evaluation with their comments. In the future, I will definitely give my students an assignment that gives them the opportunity to get acquainted with such an application.

    Greetings to everyone! I always said that I would come across you with different content.   Hello again. I am here with the last task of the term. It was the task of chatting through Magic School AI with a historical figure of our choice about a topic we were curious about.  Then, we were asked to write a report about the interview and revise the report using AI feedback. I made Socrates my chatmate and satisfied my curiosity about Socratic questioning. It was an interesting experience because even though I knew that the person speaking in front of me was artificial intelligence, it really felt like Socrates had come to life.
